What is ticket upgradation?
Whenever you have booked your train ticket with the help of IRCTC. So below you must have seen the option of auto upgrade. Let us first tell you what ticket upgradation is. Actually this is a convenience. Which runs the railway for the convenience of the passengers.
In this, if you buy a sleeper ticket then after auto upgrade it gets converted into third AC. Similarly, Third AC becomes Second AC and Second AC becomes First AC. A question might be coming in your mind but how does this happen? So let us tell you what this whole process is.
How is ticket upgrade done?
First of all, let us tell you that this facility may be known as auto upgradation. But unless you choose it yourself, you will not be able to take advantage of it. That is, if you do not click on the option of auto upgradation while booking the ticket. So you are not eligible for this.
If you have clicked on auto upgradation then your ticket can be upgraded. Its process is like this, suppose you have booked a ticket in your sleeper and your ticket is in waiting list. But if you are traveling and the ticket is not available in sleeper and the ticket is vacant in the third AC compartment in this route. Then your seat will be confirmed in third AC.
That means you had booked in sleeper but you will travel in third AC. For this facility, if you fill the form and make reservation. There you get this option at the top and if you book through IRCTC website or app, then you see it at the bottom.
